As a child I was a bright student, always used to grab among the first 3 positions in my class, teachers used to love me (I was never a teacher's pet though) and my mom and dad (specially dad) supported me with his heart and soul. We always have guidance/influence from others in some way or the other. I was fortunate enough to get them I guess. But there comes a time in your life where you need to move alone and build your own responsibilities, you need to make your own ways, you need make your own decisions and you need to choose the right path.
The world is cruel enough to pull you down every time you want to climb up. But you can't stop t

Artist's toolbox: Watercolor Equipment
✿ Watercolor Equipment
Watercolor is a painting technique in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water-soluble binder. Usually, the result is transparent and appear luminous because the pigments are laid down in a relatively pure form with a few fillers obscuring the pigment color. This medium was never taken as seriously as "high art" techniques such as oil painting and was rather seen as pale and miniaturist, but it's gradually reclaiming it's place as a vehicle for the most beautiful and unexpected artistic expression. Watercolor can be vibrant and large, very vital, spontaneous and leaning a little on luck. All
EDIT: Actually....I AM going to disable comments, and for my original reasons. I am so thankful you all love my art, but for me I simply cannot deal with the overwhelming amount of feedback I get here. When you comment I feel like I am obliged to read those comments, and I just don't have time for even that. So I am going ahead with my original plan and will start disabling comments on my deviations. Not only does this help me, but it keeps away the spammers, trolls, and viruses that DA is so notorious for. If you simply MUST express your love for my art, please help support me and buy a print or t-shirt or other merchandise from my webs

"Very few possess true artistic ability. It is therefore both unseemly and unproductive to irritate the situation by making an effort.
If you have a burning, restless urge to write or paint, simply eat something sweet and the feeling will pass."
Fran Lebowitz

The mood is just not right today. Sure, you could pick up a pencil, sit down and push yourself to practice but the result would probably end up in a trash can. Waste of time, waste of material. Besides, the guy that commissioned you two months ago found a professional for the work already.
Expect the success to

Dead animal turns its head and looks into camera..
Ughhh haha, I didn't expect this much feedback.. er please read this before reading this.
:thumb380362577: and then this... :thumb380842998:
If you have the guts I didn't, to watch the whole video,
then even if you stopped halfway, you'll see the eyes of a raccoon dog, skinned alive, stare into the camera, while clinging to its hopeless life.
For clarification, I am not in anyway a supporter nor am I affiliated with PETA.
:thumb380071082: So if PETA is another concern and problem, then it's just another one we'll have to fix.
And yes, this specific one is staged, but my point isn't that this is how people skin animals, it's that these a
I watched him flap helplessly between the teeth of a barbwire fence, screeching for help.
"Papa, look Papa! A boy!"
My papa stood dazed for a moment, dust billowing at his legs, his eyes teetering along the field. It wasn't until later that evening he told me he hadn't understood what I had seen. What he had seen.
With grass tickling the backsides of my legs, I bounded toward the boy, "What are you doing? Are you okay?"
As I approached him, I felt his skittish eyes rake across my every movement. With his ten-year-old arms slung inside the gaping maw of a fence and darkened feathers pasted along the creases of his face; he looked squarely

Love Letters On the Train
Dear Stranger,
I'm leaving this post-it tucked in the side of the train-seat. If you're reading this, you've seen it. I've seen you sit here every few Monday mornings, sometimes tapping a bent, unlit cigarette against your thigh, sipping from your tea (who brings a tea cup onto a train anyway?); sometimes staring at the rain outside, or reading your well-worn, beaten copy of Jane Eyre (I hate that you fold the corners down - it's bibliophilic abuse. I wish the book would papercut you to defend itself a little, but I digress).
You seemed so sad this Monday morning past. Please smile again. I love it when your eyes catch the light of something

Simple Design Contest- Judging!
Right so I was pretty inspired by silly-boat (https://www.deviantart.com/silly-boat)'s contest in how they used minimalistic colourations (black and white) as the subject. I tend to have some pretty somewhat complicated/complex designs so hey maybe it'll be pretty cool to have a simple design contest.
Rules are very simple: The character/creature must be completely monotone (gradients accepted) save for a single off colour (preferably a neon one or something that stands out) that can be used in only ONE area. (except for eyes)
For example say I have a wolf. That wolf is black with white socks and a stomach and has red eyes however the off colour could be two simple dashes b
